As part of the ‘Innovation System Germany’ project, this acatech STUDY examines how civilian, military and multi-use innovation potential can be better harnessed without undermining key principles such as academic freedom, international cooperation and open innovation processes. Building on empirical findings, the study brings together the perspectives of various stakeholders from academia, industry and society, as gathered through qualitative interviews, and sets out policy options for realising potential synergies along the value chain.
